Pottyroo's

Pottyroo's is an arts centre just outside Morecambe that focuses on pottery and creative workshops. It's the sort of place where you can watch potters at work, have a go yourself at the wheel, or browse finished pieces - depending on what they've got on. The vibe is genuinely local and unpretentious, which is refreshing.

Kids will get something out of it, especially if they're hands-on types who actually want to make things rather than just gawp at art. Adults who are into ceramics or looking for a rainy-day activity will find it worthwhile. It's not massive - reckon on an hour or ninety minutes maximum - but that suits a holiday park stay where you're after a proper afternoon out, not an all-day mission.

The whole area works well as part of a broader Morecambe trip. Bay View Holiday Park is just down the road and gets excellent reviews, so if you're staying there, Pottyroo's makes sense as a half-day excursion without burning fuel getting somewhere distant. Parkdean Resorts Ocean Edge is also close by. Morecambe itself has the seafront and the Promenade, so you could chain a few things together - pottery in the afternoon, fish and chips by the water, then back to the caravan.

Frankly, it's less of a headline attraction and more of a solid supporting act. But that's not a criticism. Sometimes those are the most memorable bits of a break.
