Port na Mairt

The beach at Port na Mairt is a proper slice of Argyll coastline - all dark sand, rocky outcrops, and that particular kind of Scottish light that makes everything look a bit more dramatic than it probably is. It's a working fishing village first, tourist spot second, which means you won't find a café or gift shop to clutter things up.

Spend an hour here maximum unless you're planning to use it as a jumping-off point for exploring further. The light changes constantly, which is why photographers do well here.
