Barra Mòr

The walk up Barra Mòr isn't long, but it punches well above its weight. You're looking at maybe two hours round trip from the car park near Oban, which means you can squeeze it in between breakfast and lunch without faffing about. The views across to the islands and down towards Loch Etive are genuinely special - proper West Highland stuff.

It's a straightforward hill walk rather than a scramble. The path is reasonably well-defined, though it gets boggy in places (standard Scottish hiking, basically). You'll climb through rough moorland with decent panoramas opening up as you gain height. The summit itself sits at around 900 metres and gives you that satisfying sense of achievement without requiring technical skills or crampons.
