Pembrokeshire Coast National Park

The Pembrokeshire Coast stretches for ninety-six miles along Wales' southwestern tip, and frankly, it's one of Britain's best-kept seaside secrets. Towering red sandstone cliffs give way to hidden coves, golden beaches, and rock formations that shift colour depending on the light. You're looking at proper coastal drama here - the kind that makes you understand why people relocate to Wales.

What sets this apart from other British coastlines is the sheer accessibility of the walking. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs the full length and you can dip in and out of it for an hour or a full day depending on what you fancy. Newgale Beach, just outside Haverfordwest, is a cracking spot for families - wide sand, rock pools when the tide's out, and somewhere to grab chips afterwards. If you're after something more dramatic, head to Barafundle Bay or Mwnt. Both involve proper coastal walks but reward you with near-solitude and views that'll stay with you.

History buffs will find Iron Age forts scattered along the clifftops, while walkers get endless variation - woodland, moorland, then straight back to the sea. The whole park is free to explore, though you'll pay for car parks and seaside cafés. Allow at least a morning for any serious walk, ideally a full day.

If you're basing yourself at any of the caravan parks nearby - Nolton Cross, Broad Haven, or Newgale are within spitting distance - you're properly positioned to explore. Plan for a minimum of three days to scratch the surface, longer if you want to actually enjoy it rather than tick it off.
