Northernmost Point of Wales

The northernmost point of Wales sits on Anglesey's craggy coast, a handful of windswept rocks that mark the literal edge of the country. You'll find it near Cemaes Bay, which is a proper working fishing village rather than a tourist trap. The walk to reach the actual northernmost point involves a bit of scrambling and some dodgy footing on slippery rock - wear decent boots and check the tide. It's not a long walk, but the exposed position means it can be brutal in rough weather. On a clear day the views back towards the Anglesey coastline are genuinely good, and you'll spot Snowdonia across the water on the mainland.

It's free, obviously. Allow an hour including the walk and some time to stand about feeling pleased with yourself. Families with young kids might find it bit underwhelming - there's nowhere to sit down comfortably and nothing to occupy them once they've seen the rocks. But walkers and geography nerds will get genuine satisfaction from it. Cemaes Bay itself has fish and chips and a few pubs worth your time, and Dolydd campsite sits just 2.2 miles away if you're staying in the area. Worth the detour if you're exploring Anglesey's north coast properly, though don't expect anything other than empty coastline and the wind.
