Mynydd Llwydiarth won't break any altitude records, but what it lacks in height it makes up for with proper Welsh mountain character and surprisingly good views across Anglesey's eastern coast.

Families with older children will find the ascent manageable - it's steep enough to feel like an achievement without being a proper slog. The summit rewards you with views stretching across Red Wharf Bay and beyond to Snowdonia on clear days. Worth bringing a picnic if the weather's playing ball.

After a morning on the mountain, Red Wharf Bay's beach is perfect for an afternoon paddle, making it a proper full day out on this corner of Anglesey.
