Mynydd Glyn-Lws

The walk up Mynydd Glyn-Lws rewards you with proper views across Conwy and towards Snowdonia - nothing fancy, but genuinely worth the climb if you're based at one of the caravan parks nearby, particularly Plas Farm which sits just over a mile away. It's a straightforward fell rather than a technical scramble, and the path from Abergele side is manageable for most fitness levels, though you'll feel your legs on the way up.

The summit itself won't take your breath away with monument or café - it's honest moorland with 360-degree sight lines if visibility is decent. On clear days you can pick out the peaks inland and the coastal stretch towards Rhyl beyond. Most walkers allow 90 minutes to two hours there and back, which makes it a solid half-day outing rather than a full commitment.

This works brilliantly as a mid-holiday break if you're camped at Plas Farm or Bron-y-Wendon - the kind of walk that shakes out the car journey and gets everyone moving without eating up your entire day. Families with children over eight or so will manage it fine; younger kids might struggle with the ascent depending on enthusiasm levels. Take water. The weather changes fast up here, so check conditions before setting out. Abergele itself is ten minutes' drive and has the basics - shops, fish and chips - but the mountain is really what you're here for. It's not dramatic, but it's real, and that matters.
