Lundin links beach

The stretch of sand at Lundin Links runs proper long and stays relatively quiet even when Leven's busier spots are rammed with day-trippers. It's a straightforward beach - golden sand, rock pools at the northern end, decent enough for a walk or letting kids loose with a bucket. The golf course sits right behind it, which gives the whole place a slightly manicured feel, but that's the Fife coast for you.

You'll get the most from Lundin Links if you're after a decent shore walk rather than a full day's entertainment. The rock pools are worth exploring when the tide's out, and the beach itself is wide enough that you won't feel crowded. Families staying at Silverburn Park or Leven Beach Holiday Park - both less than a mile away - can easily pop over for a couple of hours without it being a major outing.

There's nothing fancy here and that's the point. No arcades, no beach huts for rent, no concession stands that I noticed. Just beach. It connects well with the wider Fife coastline if you're doing a driving loop through the region, linking nicely with walks around Methil and down towards Earlsferry. The light can be lovely in late afternoon, especially autumn when the sand takes on a warmer tone.

Bit exposed when the wind picks up - bring a windbreaker. Free to access, obviously, being a beach. Worth the detour if you're staying locally, though it won't justify a special trip on its own.
