The London England Temple sits just outside Lingfield in Surrey, a gleaming white building that announces itself with absolute certainty among the rolling countryside. This is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' main temple in Britain, and it's a proper architectural statement - all clean lines and modernist confidence, nothing remotely medieval about it.

You can walk the grounds freely, and the gardens alone are worth the detour if you're in the area. The building itself is ceremonial, so unless you're a member of the faith, you won't get inside the working spaces, but the exterior and the manicured grounds give you a clear sense of what draws people here.
