Lamp Hill

The highest point in Cambridgeshire isn't exactly the Lake District. Lamp Hill sits just 128 metres above sea level near Royston, which tells you everything about the terrain round here - flat, agricultural, relentlessly horizontal. But that's precisely what makes it worth the trip if you're camping or glamping in the area.

You get up there and suddenly the entire county spreads out beneath you. On a clear day, you can see for miles across arable fields and distant church spires. It's less dramatic than other peaks, more about perspective than panorama.
