Kidwelly Castle

The castle sits right on the river bend in Kidwelly, impossible to miss as you drive through town - a proper medieval stronghold that's been here since Norman times. The inner castle is more fragmentary, but the gatehouse still commands respect.

The castle is free to enter and open most daylight hours - worth checking before you go, mind.
