Hush Heath

Hush Heath sits just outside Tonbridge, producing English sparkling wine that actually stands up to a glass or two without apology. The vineyard sprawls across 70 acres of Kent farmland, and on a decent day the views across the Weald are the sort that make you understand why someone planted vines here in the first place.

You can visit for tastings - they do both still and sparkling - and the whole thing feels properly done without being pretentious about it. The winery itself is modern, nothing fancy, but the grounds are worth a wander. Wine enthusiasts will get the most from a tasting session, though families with older kids can tag along for the vineyard tour if you book ahead. It's not a day-long destination on its own, but it slots nicely into a wider Kent exploration.

The nearest town, Tonbridge, is just a short drive away, which means you're not isolated if you're staying at one of the nearby touring parks like Tanner Farm or Still Acres. Either of those would serve as a decent base for a few days of local wandering - combine Hush Heath with a walk or two and you've got a solid weekend. The sparkling wine is genuinely good, which matters. Too many English vineyard visits end with you drinking something forgettable out of politeness. This isn't that.
