The working farm at Attingham sits within the grounds of the National Trust property just south of Shrewsbury, and it's genuinely worth a stop if you're already visiting the hall and estate. You get to see traditional farming methods in action - cattle, sheep, the lot - which beats reading about it in a guidebook. The farm itself is modest compared to the grand house, but that's rather the point. Kids tend to enjoy it more than adults unless you're into heritage agriculture, and it does add another hour or so to your Attingham visit without feeling tacked on.

Access is usually included with your National Trust membership or hall entry fee, though it's worth checking ahead as opening can be seasonal. The walk from the main car park takes ten minutes or so, and the paths are decent underfoot. Honestly, if you're just passing through Shrewsbury, this isn't a reason to divert miles out of your way - but if you're already planning to explore Attingham's gardens and interior, the farm rounds out the day nicely. Several caravan parks sit within a few miles: Love2Stay is closest at just over a mile, with Ebury Hill and Condover Park within a comfortable drive. Base yourself at one of these and you've got a proper Shropshire countryside base for exploring the wider area.
