Giant Redwood

There's a rather magnificent redwood standing in Swansea that stops you dead in your tracks. You can combine it with a walk around Swansea's waterfront or a proper exploration of Gower Peninsula, which is only a short drive away. History buffs might find it interesting as a living connection to much older landscapes, though it won't keep you occupied for long on its own.

The real appeal? It's quiet and genuine. No ticketed attractions, no gift shop, just a tree that's been here far longer than any of us will be. That's rather lovely.
