Garn Bach

A steep little hill above Pwllheli that gives you proper views across the Cardigan Bay without requiring fell-walker credentials. The walk up Garn Bach takes around 45 minutes if you're moving at a reasonable pace, and the summit sits at just over 300 metres - high enough to feel like you've earned the effort, low enough that most people won't turn back halfway.

What you get at the top are sweeping views down to Pwllheli's coastline and across to the Llyn Peninsula. On a clear day you can see properly far. The walk itself is straightforward enough - mostly a track that gets steeper as you climb - though it can be boggy after rain, so proper boots matter. Allow an hour to be comfortable, longer if you've got kids in tow.

History buffs might appreciate that this area has Iron Age roots, though the hill itself isn't a dramatic archaeological site. It's more about the walk and the view than any specific destination, which means it works best for walkers and families wanting a proper outing without a full day's commitment.
