East Bysshe Cross Country Course

The East Bysshe Cross Country Course near Lingfield is a proper working venue that caters almost exclusively to equestrian competitors rather than casual visitors. It's essentially a permanent cross-country jumping course set across open Surrey countryside - think solid timber obstacles, water jumps, and technical combinations spread out over parkland that takes a good hour or more to walk round.

Unless you're competing or accompanying a rider, there's not much to see here. This isn't a spectator sport venue in the traditional sense. But if you're interested in equestrianism or have a horse competing in events, the course is well-maintained and challenging enough to attract serious riders.

The appeal for park holiday visitors is limited unless you're an equestrian family. If you're staying at Long Acres Caravan & Camping Park just down the road, or the glamping option there, you might pop over if someone's involved in competition, but you won't find much to occupy non-riders for long. Check the website for event schedules and competition dates before planning anything.

Surrey's got better options for general tourists - you're better off using this as a specific stop if you know someone competing. The proximity to Long Acres makes it convenient for equestrian-focused breaks, but that's the only real draw.
