Dulverton Sports Field sits on the edge of Tiverton, a working space where locals come to kick a ball about rather than somewhere tourists typically queue up. That said, if you're based at Nirvana Glamping five miles down the road and fancy a proper walk without the crowds, the surrounding countryside here is genuinely worth exploring. The field itself opens onto rural Devon - fields, hedgerows, the kind of landscape that makes you understand why people move out here. It's not a nature reserve with visitor centres or marked trails, just open ground where you can wander and breathe. Walkers get the most from this spot, especially those after something low-key between more famous attractions. There's no admission fee because it's essentially public land, and you can spend as little as twenty minutes or a couple of hours depending on how far you fancy walking into the surrounding Exe Valley. Come on a clear day - the views towards the Quantocks are decent when the weather's with you. Muddy in winter, obvious enough. Kids won't get much out of it specifically, but as a launch point for family rambles it's solid. The real draw is that it's refreshingly unsignposted and uncommercialized.
