Dorstone Hill Wood

Ancient beech and oak trees tower overhead as you follow the woodland paths through this lovely patch of Herefordshire countryside. Dorstone Hill Wood sits just west of Hereford, offering proper walking territory for anyone wanting to escape into nature without travelling too far from the main roads.

Families will find the terrain manageable enough for children, though the slopes can get a bit steep in places. The woodland floor springs back under your feet, carpeted with fallen leaves and the occasional flash of wildflowers depending on the season. Dog walkers seem to know this spot well - you'll likely encounter a few locals exercising their spaniels along the main tracks.
