Court Cave

Court Cave sits along the Fife coastline near Leven, a proper coastal walk that rewards you with some genuinely interesting geology. The cave itself isn't vast - you're not talking Fingal's or anything dramatic - but it's the kind of spot that makes you pause and think about what water and time can do to rock.

It's essentially a sea cave carved into the cliffs, accessible when the tide's out. The entrance is modest, the interior a bit tight in places, but there's something satisfying about ducking into a natural cavity that's been here far longer than any of us. Worth the effort for geology enthusiasts and anyone who fancies a bit of coastal scrambling. Kids will find it interesting for maybe twenty minutes, then they'll want to skip stones instead.

The walk to get there is the real draw - you're on good coastal paths with views across the Firth. Timing is everything: check tide tables before you go, or you'll be standing at the cliff edge looking down at water instead of walking into the cave. Allow an hour or so for the cave itself and surrounding cliffs if you're not rushed.

If you're based at one of the nearby parks - Leven Beach is closest at just over four miles - this makes a decent half-day outing to break up a caravan holiday. Not a destination in itself, but a solid addition to a coastal walk. Go when the light's decent and the tide's cooperating.
