Coast Aquatics

Coast Aquatics sits just outside Haverfordwest and is basically your local aquatic centre - the sort of place where families actually go for a swim rather than somewhere you'd plan a day around. It's got pools for different levels, so whether your kids are learning to do front crawl or you fancy some proper lap swimming, there's something to get on with. Nothing fancy, but it does the job.

You'll get the most out of it if you're based at one of the nearby campsites - Three Fields is closest at under three miles away, or Holly Tree Glamping if you want something a bit more upmarket. It's ideal as a rainy-day solution when the Pembrokeshire coast is throwing a strop with the weather. An hour is probably enough unless the kids are proper water rats, in which case you might stretch to ninety minutes.

Because opening hours and admission prices aren't listed online, ring ahead before you go - nothing worse than turning up somewhere only to find it's shut for a school group or a private booking. Given it's a working leisure facility rather than a tourist attraction, don't expect the fuss of somewhere like the Sea Aquarium. It's functional and local. Worth knowing about if you're camped nearby and need to burn off some energy, but not worth detouring from the coast for.
