You'll find the Cineworld multiplex tucked into Chichester town centre, which means it's convenient rather than special - but that's rather the point. This is your standard modern cinema experience: the usual mix of blockbusters, family films and the occasional indie release, spread across multiple screens with stadium seating and the predictable overpriced snacks situation. The screens are decent enough, and they've got IMAX if you want to splash out on the bigger experience.

It's genuinely useful if you're camped at Chichester Lakeside Holiday Park (just 1.3 miles away) or any of the other sites dotted around - Stubcroft Farm Campsite, Concierge Camping, that sort of thing - and you fancy an evening out without driving far. Families with kids who are restless on rainy days will appreciate it, though you're paying London prices for popcorn. The town itself has enough going on that you can make an afternoon of it: a Cathedral, decent pubs, a few independent shops.

Book tickets online before you go - queuing at the counter is how they get you to spend more on snacks. Matinées tend to be quieter and cheaper than evening showings. Allow two and a half to three hours from arrival to leaving the car park. It's not a highlight of a West Sussex break, but it's the sort of place that stops kids whinging when the weather turns.
