Central Park, Haworth

The moors around Haworth draw walkers by the thousand, but Central Park itself is where locals actually spend their time when they're not trudging up to the Bronte parsonage. It's a proper green space - nothing fancy, just well-maintained grounds with paths that let you stretch your legs without committing to a full day on the fells.

You get decent views across the valley toward Keighley, and the park connects reasonably well with walks that head out into the surrounding countryside. There's enough room to let kids burn off energy, and the paths are straightforward enough that you won't spend half your visit studying a map. The whole thing takes perhaps an hour to wander through properly, maybe longer if you dawdle and actually sit down.

If you're based at Upwood Holiday Park or Bronte Country Park - both within a couple of miles - this works as a useful morning activity before heading elsewhere. It's free, which helps, and you won't need to book anything. Go early on weekends if you prefer quiet; summer afternoons bring families out in numbers.

The real draw is the walking options beyond the park itself. Haworth's got genuine character - the cobbled street, the old inns - and Central Park sits at the edge of proper rambling country. Worth an hour if you're in the area, though it's not the kind of place you'd plan a trip around. It's a pleasant local park doing its job well.
