About Carn Fadryn Hillfort
This is really one for walkers and history types rather than casual visitors. There's no visitor centre, no interpretation boards, nothing fancy. What you get is the landscape, the archaeology, and time to actually think about what life was like up here during the Iron Age. Kids might find it interesting if they're into climbing and views, but there's no play value whatsoever - bring a picnic and make an afternoon of it if that's the plan.
The site is free and open year-round, though winter weather can make the final push a bit of a slog. Allow two to three hours total including the climb and time to walk the ramparts properly.
If you're based at Tyn Ddol Camping or Glampio Coed nearby, this works brilliantly as a half-day excursion. The walk itself is straightforward enough - park near the small car park at the base and follow the obvious path. Bring water and decent boots. It's not a difficult scramble, but the ground can be boggy and slippery.
