For plane spotters and aviation enthusiasts, this is worth a detour. You can watch light aircraft come and go, and there's something satisfying about seeing a Cessna actually take off from a place you can walk around. Families with younger kids might find twenty minutes entertaining; older children interested in flying will happily spend longer. It's not a major attraction - don't go expecting displays or visitor facilities - but as a proper working airfield, it has character.

The real pull is how close it sits to Caernarfon itself. The medieval castle dominates the town, and you could easily combine a morning at the airport with an afternoon exploring the fortress and town centre. For those based at Morfa Lodge Holiday Park, it's barely a walk away. Dinlle Caravan Park is also within spitting distance.

Don't expect opening hours in the traditional sense or admission fees - this is an operational airfield.
