Bottomclose Copse

A proper woodland walk rather than a destination in itself, Bottomclose Copse sits just outside Tiverton and delivers exactly what you'd expect from a Devon forest - beech and oak, dappled light, and the kind of quiet that makes you remember why you came west. The paths meander through without much fanfare, which is rather the point. You're unlikely to find signage or facilities, so come prepared for muddy boots and an old-fashioned sense of exploring.

Walkers will get more from this than anyone else. It's the sort of place you tick off between other activities rather than plan your day around, though families with young children looking for a straightforward ramble through the woods will find it perfectly adequate for an hour or so. Older kids might find it a bit samey if the weather's turning.

There's no visitor centre or parking infrastructure to speak of, so this is best treated as a quick woodland interlude if you're based at nearby Nirvana Glamping.
