The Belgian Promenade is a modest but genuinely pleasant coastal walk that curves along the shore near Pentraeth on Anglesey's eastern coast. It's not dramatic - no soaring cliffs or dramatic vistas - but that's rather the point. The path itself is well-maintained and flat, making it one of those rare spots where you can take your time without breaking a sweat.

What you get here is a proper slice of quiet Welsh coastal life. Salt marshes fringe the water, waders pick through the mud at low tide, and on a clear day you can see across to the mainland hills. The promenade runs for a good stretch, so you can walk as far as energy allows before turning back. There's a decent car park at the start, which fills up on summer weekends but rarely feels rammed.

This works well for families with younger kids who aren't ready for moorland trudging, or anyone after an easy leg-stretch between camp activities. The caravan parks at Podiau Môn and Ael y Garnedd are barely twenty minutes away, making it a natural morning outing before heading elsewhere on Anglesey. Allow an hour for a proper walk without rushing.

Timing-wise, low tide brings the waders out and opens up more beach. High tide is fine too - the path sits well above the waterline. Spring and early summer are loveliest when the marshland flowers properly. It's free and always open, which is exactly what a local walk should be. Not a showstopper, but honest and worth the drive from Pentraeth.
