Ballymeanoch Henge

There's not much left standing at Ballymeanoch, but what remains tells you something worth listening to. Two stone circles and a henge monument sit on moorland between Lochgilphead and Kilmartin, dating back around 5,000 years. The stones aren't tall or showy - this isn't Stonehenge - but they're genuinely old and they're yours to walk around without barriers or crowds.

Don't expect facilities or interpretation boards - bring a guidebook or download information beforehand.
