Antur Alpaca at Geufron Farm

Alpacas aren't what you'd expect to find on a working farm in rural Gwynedd, but there they are at Geufron Farm near Tywyn - a proper surprise in the Welsh countryside. You get up close to these soft, curious creatures, and they're far more interactive than you'd imagine. Kids absolutely love it, and honestly, adults do too. There's something about hand-feeding an alpaca that just works.

The farm sits in decent walking country, so you could easily combine it with a ramble around the Tywyn area. It's the sort of place that doesn't demand hours of your time - allow a good hour or so, maybe ninety minutes if you're lingering and taking photos. The alpacas are genuinely friendly, though they do have personalities. Some will eat from your hand straightaway; others are having none of it.

If you're camping or caravanning at one of the nearby parks - Cae Du or Sunbeach are both close by - this is a cracking way to break up a day, especially if the weather's on your side. Not a grand day out on its own, but paired with the coastal walks around Tywyn or a trip to Snowdonia proper, it fills a gap nicely. Worth checking opening times before you head over, as smaller farm attractions can be seasonal.
