Strathendrick Golf Club offers decent views across the countryside, while walkers often use the village as their final resupply point before tackling the West Highland Way. The trail passes right through the village centre, bringing a steady stream of muddy boots and heavy rucksacks to the local pubs. Lily Loch provides a gentler outdoor option - a lovely spot for an afternoon wander when the weather's being kind.

Drymen and East Loch Lomond Parish Church of Scotland anchors the village centre, its stone tower visible from the surrounding hills. The area's history runs deeper than most realise; Catter Law Motte reminds you that people have been choosing this spot for settlements for centuries.

From here, Loch Lomond's eastern shores are barely ten minutes by car. Glasgow lies 45 minutes south via the A811, making this an excellent escape from city life without the proper remoteness that puts some people off Highland breaks.

Staying at one of the nearby holiday parks makes perfect sense. You're close enough to nip into the village for supplies at Drymen Library or a pint, yet surrounded by some of Scotland's most accessible Highland scenery. The glamping options around here have really taken off - hardly surprising given the combination of stunning landscape and reasonable accessibility.
