Park of Drumquhassle

The Drumquhassle reserve sits on the edge of Croftamie, a proper bit of Lowland Scotland where you can actually breathe. The paths are manageable, though muddy after rain, so decent boots matter.

This works best for walkers and anyone serious about birdwatching. Kids will manage it in small doses - maybe an hour tops - unless you're raising the next David Attenborough. The free access and no-fuss approach means you're not losing money if you pop in briefly between other things.

Locally, you're within striking distance of several glamping spots if you're doing the full Loch Lomond experience - Duncan Family Farms and Arcadia are practically on the doorstep. Slot this in as part of a wider ramble rather than the main event. It's the kind of stop that reminds you there's quietness left in Scotland.
