Had a lovely 2 nights out of season here. Failcites in the shower area are bit dated but clean and hot showers and warm to get dressed etc. Everything is close together water and Elsan etc so no need to trudge to get it all. Very quiet at night lovely cafe bar near by ( not part of the caravan site but still welcoming) lovely walks near by.
Didn't stay overnight but lovely stop off on our walk along the Essex Way — Wrabness > Manningtree. Excellent selection of drink, nice interior, and a wide, well curated selection of cakes, breads and light lunches.
The perfect site for a stopover for the ferry. The pitches were a mixture of grass and hardstanding. From what we saw were well maintained. The facilities are very dated and akin to pub loos but nevertheless clean and functional. I would recommend this site for a stopover, but for me, that is all.
Was greeted by the owner John at the gate on arrival. We were introduced to Wayne and Sarah who were extremely helpful, a wealth of knowledge, especially as it was our first trip in our motorhome overnight stay. It was a very peaceful site which was needed. Would recommend!
We stayed in campers for the weekend. Very quiet site because a lot of people just use as a pit stop on the way to the Ferry. Spacious pitches. Good facilities with good water pressure and nice hot water. Some toys available to borrow on site but also a great play park a few minutes walk away.
