Ocknell Campsite

A perfect location for a campsite in the north of the forest. Very peaceful. Guy that met us and explained the camping set up was very friendly. The guy the following morning that I mentioned the toilets were blocked, not as much! No showers but we knew that and once the bins were emptied and toilets sorted it was a perfect campsite (although bring strong pegs as ground is rocky)

This was our second time at Ocknell - we pitched up in the Glades and really enjoyed being able to camp right on the edge of the forest. The ground is fairly solid so definitely bring rock pegs! There are no shower facilities on site but ok if you’re only staying a couple of nights. Staff were lovely and of course very scenic place to stay. Ground was incredibly hard, even struggled with our drill pegs to secure our tent. Facilities are pretty rough and not very clean, which was fine for our one-night stopover but not sure I'd be looking to stay for any longer.

My friend and I had a great experience at Ocknell Campsite! We are backpackers, and arrived by foot at the campsite. There was no booking required. We paid £9 for the two of us to share a tent, which is probably as cheap as it gets. All the staff we interacted with was lovely.

Utterly terrible staff - terrible attitude and out to make a quick buck, nothing more. I was dropping off some friends and helping them set up as they didn't have a car and I was lending one my tent, and I was questioned relentlessly and then wasn't allowed to enter the site the next day to pick them up, unless I paid a £5 fee.
