It's not a polished visitor attraction - there's no café or gift shop - but that's partly what makes it compelling. You're standing on actual wartime concrete, looking at preserved structures and interpretation boards that tell the real stories of crews who didn't come home.

It's the kind of place that hits differently once you know the detail - the losses, the logistics, the sheer scale of the air campaign. Allow a couple of hours if you're thorough; less if you're just passing through. Best visited on a dry day when you can actually walk the grounds without getting bogged down.

The Courts Campsite and Stocks Farm Camping are both within easy striking distance, so you could build it into a longer itinerary around the area without too much faffing. Not a destination on its own, but absolutely worth a detour if you're camping nearby and the weather cooperates.
