The church sits quietly in Worlingworth village, east of Woodbridge, and honestly it's the sort of place you'd walk right past if you weren't looking. But that would be a mistake. St Mary's has the kind of medieval bones that reward a closer look - 14th-century flintwork on the tower, a proper timber roof inside, and enough carved details to keep architecture enthusiasts occupied for a good half hour.

The interior is straightforward rather than showy. Wooden pews, whitewashed walls, a handful of brasses underfoot. What strikes you is how lived-in it feels - not museumified or precious. The chancel has some decent medieval work if you know what you're looking at, and there's something rather lovely about the light coming through old glass.
