The area itself is unremarkable: a junction where a couple of country roads meet, surrounded by the kind of dense Hampshire woodland that makes the New Forest feel genuinely remote even though you're never far from civilisation.

What makes it worth a mention is its role as a starting point for proper forest walks. The nearby campsite at Holmsley - just 3.1 miles away - uses this area as a jumping-off point for exploring some of the better-kept trails through the forest. If you're staying at any of the local parks - Setthorns, New Forest Glamping, or Fernwood are all within spitting distance - this is the kind of low-key spot where you can actually see how the New Forest works as a working landscape, not just a tourist destination.

Go if you're the type who wants to walk rather than visit attractions. The New Forest National Park itself is nearby, and Woods Corner functions as a genuine access point rather than a commercialised entry. Expect woodland, quiet, and the occasional New Forest pony grazing at the roadside. It's free, obviously, and it costs nothing but time to have a wander.
