Whitwell Common

The open heathland around Whitwell Common stretches across Norfolk in a way that feels properly remote, even though you're only a short drive from Bylaugh. The real appeal is the light and the emptiness. On a clear day it's excellent; in drizzle it's atmospheric in a way that's either brilliant or miserable depending on your mood.
