The Methodist Church in Ulverston is a proper Victorian edifice that sits quietly on the high street, easy to walk past if you're not paying attention. This isn't a day-long attraction. You'll spend twenty minutes looking around, half an hour maximum if you're genuinely interested in Victorian chapel architecture. Ulverston itself is a market town with proper character - worth a wander around the high street and up to the Laurel and Hardy museum if you're here. As a base, though, you'd be better off in nearby Grange-over-Sands, which is prettier and closer to proper walking country. If you're staying at one of the caravan parks scattered around - Old Park Wood or Willow Tree are both within five miles - the church is an easy leg-stretch stop on a rainy afternoon rather than a destination in itself. Combine it with a proper walk along the Morecambe Bay coastal path and you've got a decent half-day sorted.
