Tydweiliog (St. Cwyfan) Church

The church sits on a headland jutting into Cardigan Bay, which is the proper draw here - not the building itself, though that's lovely enough. St. Cwyfan's is tiny, whitewashed, and surrounded by gravestones that seem to lean into the wind. You can only reach it on foot, down a narrow coastal path from Tydweiliog village, and the walk itself is worth the trip more than anything you'll find inside.

It's a peaceful spot for anyone who likes old churches and coastal scenery in equal measure. Families won't get much from it unless the kids are the type who enjoy rambling and don't need attractions with gift shops. The walk takes maybe twenty minutes each way, and there's no facilities nearby, so bring water. Free to visit, naturally.

Pwllheli is your nearest proper town, five or six miles south, which puts you well placed for exploring the Llyn Peninsula. If you're staying at Tyn Ddol Camping and Glamping or Glampio Coed Glamping - both just a few miles away - this makes an easy morning outing before heading elsewhere. Treheli Farm is slightly further but still within reasonable range.

Go on a clear day when you can actually see across the bay. Dull weather makes it feel a bit bleak, and there's nothing inside the church itself to keep you occupied if the views aren't on. The real value is in the walk and the isolation - a proper quiet moment on the Welsh coast.
