About Twotop Hill
This is walker territory, really. Not a destination for the very young unless they're already competent on hills, and definitely not for anyone expecting dramatic drops or technical scrambling. Allow two to three hours there and back from any sensible starting point, though you could spend longer pottering about the moors if you've got time. The best approach is from the north-east, where the gradient is kinder.
If you're camping at High Hall Farm Campsite nearby, Twotop makes a solid half-day expedition that breaks up your park routine without requiring proper mountaineering kit. Go in decent weather - it gets miserable and featureless in cloud - and you'll have a proper little fell walk that feels miles from anywhere, despite being within an hour of Carlisle. Worth the effort if you're already in the area.
