Tueshill

The walk up Tueshill from Craven Arms takes about forty minutes if you're not dawdling, and it's a proper straightforward climb through open moorland. You get decent views across the Shropshire Hills as you go, and on a clear day you can see well beyond the immediate valleys. The summit itself is modest - no dramatic rock formations or trig point drama - but it's the kind of walk that rewards you for the effort without pretending to be something it isn't.

This is best for people who want a half-day outing rather than a full expedition. Families with older kids will manage it fine; younger ones might find the exposed sections a bit much on a windy day. The ground can get boggy after rain, so decent boots matter. There's no cafe at the top, no visitor facilities, nothing fancy. Just you, the landscape, and the Shropshire weather doing what it does.

If you're based at one of the glamping spots nearby - Shropshire Luxury Glamping and Shropshire Hills Glamping are both within a few miles - Tueshill makes a decent morning walk before breakfast. Black Hall Lodges and Wayside Camping work too if you don't mind the extra drive. It's the sort of place you'd combine with a proper walk around the wider hills rather than visit in isolation. Worth doing once while you're in the area; not the reason you'd come to Shropshire on its own.
