Traeth y Mwnt

Seal spotting is the main draw here. The grey seals that lounge on the rocks seem completely unbothered by human visitors, and you'll often catch them bobbing in the waves just offshore. Families with older kids will love the rock pooling opportunities at low tide, though the current can be strong so swimming requires proper caution.

The beach stays relatively quiet even in summer - partly because of that challenging walk down, partly because it's just off the beaten track enough to deter casual visitors. Worth noting there's no facilities whatsoever, so pack everything you need including water.

This works brilliantly as part of a Pembrokeshire coast stay. Tŷ Gwyn Caravan and Camping Park sits just minutes away, making it easy to pop down for sunset walks or early morning seal watching. The nearby Happy Campers Family Park offers a good base for families wanting more amenities while still being close to this wilder stretch of coastline.
