Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park

Right on the cliffs above Cardigan Bay, this working farm doubles as a modest zoo where you can actually get close to the animals. It's not Chepstow Castle territory in terms of tourist infrastructure, but that's rather the point. You'll find sheep, goats, and various farm creatures in fairly natural surroundings, plus proper views across the water towards New Quay.

The real appeal here is the informality of it all. Staff will chat to you about the animals rather than leaving you to read laminated boards. Kids under ten tend to get the most from it - anything older and they'll clock the modest scale pretty quickly. Allow an hour, maybe ninety minutes if you're thorough. Ideally visit on a dry afternoon when the light catches the bay properly. Storm days are dramatic but miserable underfoot. Cardigan itself is a working town with a proper castle and plenty of cafes, so this works well as a morning stop before exploring the coast. The nearby camps like Gwbert Glamping and Nantycroy are within a short drive, making it an easy half-day slot in a larger West Wales coastal loop. Don't expect a full day's entertainment, but as a breezy clifftop interlude with animals and sea air, it delivers.
