It's a small forest near Bethersden, the sort of place locals know but visitors often miss entirely. The paths are straightforward enough, though they can get boggy after rain, so decent boots matter. You're looking at maybe 45 minutes to an hour for a decent wander, longer if you're the type who stops to examine moss or listen for birds. Families with younger kids will manage it fine - there's nothing challenging about the terrain, though there's no playground or visitor centre to speak of. This is woodland walking, pure and simple. The real appeal is if you want to stretch your legs between camping trips without driving far. Longberry Farm Glamping and Wildside Camping are both within a couple of miles, which makes Three Acre Wood a solid option for an evening stroll or morning leg-stretch when you're based at one of the local caravan parks. It won't blow your mind with views or dramatic scenery - it's intimate and enclosed - but that's rather the point. Go when the light's decent, avoid after heavy rain, and don't expect facilities. It's a working forest, not an attraction with facilities attached. Worth the walk if you're staying nearby and fancy something low-key.
