The Lost Treasure of Lyonesse: A Golf Adventure!

Miniature golf with a Cornish legend theme - you're playing through eighteen holes designed around the myth of the sunken kingdom of Lyonesse. It's daft fun, really. The course winds through caves, past waterfalls, and around rocky outcrops, all done up with that proper Arthurian atmosphere. You'll find yourself putting through a castle gate, over a drawbridge, that sort of thing. Not challenging enough to wind up serious golfers, but that's rather the point.

Families with kids aged five to fifteen will get the most mileage out of it. Young children love the theming and the relatively short holes, while older kids appreciate actually having a chance of finishing under par. Adults tend to either embrace the camp or tolerate it for the sake of the little ones - it's not the sort of place you'd come back to solo.

Allow forty-five minutes to an hour, depending on crowd levels and how many attempts you need on the trickier holes. It's free to wander in and have a look, though obviously you pay to play. Open daily from ten in the morning until five in the evening, so it's a decent rainy-day option if the Cornish weather turns.

If you're camped at Lands End Camping & Glamping - just under a mile away - this slots in nicely between beach trips and stronger walks. Roselands, further out near Penzance, makes it a reasonable thirty-minute detour. Worth an hour of your time, though not worth planning a whole day around.
