The building itself is functional rather than striking, but that's not really the point.

Families with kids will get the most mileage from it, particularly if the weather turns grim or you need to burn off some energy. The pools are the main draw - there's usually a decent variety of sessions from toddler splash times to adult lane swimming. If you've got teenagers, they might find the sports facilities worthwhile too.

It's free to wander in and have a look around, though specific activities like swimming carry their own admission charges. Staying at Balbirnie Park Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite just down the road (less than a mile away) makes this especially handy as a rainy-day backup. Kingdom Caravan Park is barely further. Neither requires a trek through Glenrothes town centre, so the Lomond Centre works well as a quick addition to your park holiday rather than a destination in itself.
