The Dingle (Nant y Pandy) Nature Reserve

Ancient woodland clings to the steep sides of this narrow gorge, creating one of Anglesey's most atmospheric natural spaces. The reserve follows the course of Nant y Pandy stream as it tumbles through a dramatic ravine carved from limestone, with moss-covered rocks and ferns creating an almost primeval feel.

Walking the main path takes about 45 minutes at a gentle pace, though the terrain can be slippery when wet - proper footwear essential. Oak, ash and birch trees tower overhead while bluebells carpet the forest floor in spring. Keep an eye out for red squirrels and the occasional buzzard circling above.
