The Belt

The Belt is a proper woodland walk on the outskirts of Warwick, the sort of place locals know but visitors often miss. It's a managed forest with decent paths running through it - good for stretching your legs without needing a full day's hiking. The trees are dense enough that you feel genuinely away from things, even though you're barely four miles from town centre. You won't find dramatic vistas or dramatic anything really. What you get is shade, birdsong, and the kind of quiet that makes you remember why you booked the caravan in the first place.

This works best for walkers who want a proper woodland experience without the scrambling. Kids might manage it fine for an hour or so, but it's not a destination attraction - there are no play areas, cafes, or novelty factor. History buffs won't find much to catch on. It's genuinely just trees and paths. The bonus is it's free and you can turn up whenever suits you.

Stay at Harbury Fields Farm Caravan Park, just four miles out, and The Belt becomes a proper go-to for morning or afternoon walks. It pairs well with a Warwick town day - hit the castle and streets when you want crowds, then escape here when you don't. Twitey's Camping is slightly further out but still handy as a base. Newlands Caravan Park sits roughly the same distance. The walk itself takes as long as you fancy - there's no fixed route, just woodland to wander through. Go when it's not raining if you can. Soggy paths lose their appeal fast.
