It's free to visit and accessible year-round, though muddy conditions after rain make it less pleasant underfoot. Allow an hour if you're leisurely about it, less if you're fit and focused. The real value is as part of a wider Cotswolds walking route rather than a standalone trip - you're close enough to Cheltenham town for it to fit neatly into a holiday based at one of the nearby glamping spots like Big Skies or Coxhorne. Either of those would make decent bases for exploring the area's walking network.
