Colesbourne Gardens

The snowdrops at Colesbourne are properly special - we're talking thousands of them carpeting the woodland floor come February and March, white flowers thick enough that you could almost believe it's still snowing. It's a private garden near Cheltenham that opens during the snowdrop season, and if you time it right, it's genuinely worth the detour from your base at one of the nearby glamping spots like Big Skies or Star Glamping.

What you get is a walk through mature woodland and garden borders absolutely crammed with snowdrop varieties - some rare cultivars you won't see anywhere else. The paths wind through quite naturally, and it feels less like a formal garden tour and more like stumbling upon someone's rather exceptional private world. Allow an hour or so; longer if you're the type to photograph every bloom.

It's absolutely made for snowdrop enthusiasts and keen gardeners - if your kids aren't already obsessed with plants, they might find it a bit slow. But if you're staying in glamping accommodation in the area during winter months, especially families who enjoy quieter pursuits, this is genuinely different from the usual garden centre visit.
