Start Hill

Start Hill is a modest chalk peak near Dunmow that commands proper views across the Essex countryside - the sort of place where you genuinely feel like you've climbed something, even if it's only 482 feet above sea level. The walk up takes about twenty minutes if you're moving at a reasonable pace, and the summit rewards you with sight lines stretching across farmland and distant woodland that shift colour through the seasons.
